Health & Hygiene

Over the past 20 years or so allergies, such as asthma and rhinitis, have been causing more and more of us to experience those uncomfortable and distressing symptoms of allergen sensitivity.

Symptoms such as sneezing, wheezing, sinus pain, runny nose, coughing, rashes, swelling, itchy red eyes and sore throats can all indicate an underlying sensitivity to allergens. This increase has been blamed on many things, including the pollution in our environment, but in recent years many more sufferers are considering the effects of pollution in our homes.

These symptoms can be triggered by many things including tree or grass pollen, mould, skin particles (dander) from pets and the faeces of the omnipresent house dust mite, a microscopic eight-legged creature that feeds on human skin residue. Dust mite is the biggest single reason for vacuuming mattresses and pillows.

Eliminating these allergens, and the risks that they present, should be a priority in any home. Recommendations include regular bathing and grooming of pets to reduce dander, opening windows, not overheating the home, reducing indoor humidity (dust mites cannot survive in low humidity) and regular cleaning of carpets and soft furnishings.

Professional carpet and upholstery cleaning has been traditionally regarded as a cosmetic service to remove stains and improve the appearance of soft furnishings. Now, with improved knowledge and much more general concern, cleaning for the benefit of health has been recognised as being of vital importance.

Regular cleaning of your carpets and upholstery, by a fully trained professional, will significantly reduce the amount of allergens in your home and the chances of you or your family being affected by them.

Environmental Impact, Carbon Footprint, Green Living and Eco-Friendly are all terms that are becoming more well known and used in general with the growing concern of how our activities and decisions are affecting the environment.

This is an area that Mr Hygenic has seriously considered and many initiatives, procedures have been put in place to combat negative impact on the environment. We follow strict Guidlines set out by the Industry and follow the Industry-wide regulations and Law.
